The exterior is a deep, earthy chocolate-brown with thick, swirling ridges of clay that create a "bark" texture, darkened further by a matte iron wash. Interspersed within the dark bark are smooth, almond-toned oval insets representing bare, stripped wood. The top rim is jagged and uneven.
