WELCOME TO WAILOA CENTER

Wailoa Center is located within the Wailoa River State Recreation Area in Hilo and is a Division of State Parks, Department of Land and Natural Resources. Wailoa Center is Hawai’i Islands’ largest venue for showcasing the work of local artists, community groups and cultural events.  An exciting variety of month-long exhibits and events are scheduled throughout the year which can be viewed in the circular building's two galleries. Visitors can also receive information about art and cultural resources, local attractions, and events on the Big Island from the Center's knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Wailoa Center is free and open to the public.

Wailoa Center works closely with  Hawai'i Island Art Alliance (HIAA), a non-profit organization  who serve as "Friends of Wailoa Center". HIAA sponsors regular juried exhibits at the Center and they offer a variety of workshops and classes.
